Hi, i have a very tough disision 2 make n i thought i would ask u for some help. I started track this year and i was a sprinter for winter and spring season. I was awful, never good but i enjoyed it VERY much. XC is coming up. Im contemplating joining but i really don't know if i should. The idea sounds amazing, but i can barely run a mile without falling over. coach wants us to run 3-5 miles in the summer before the season starts. XC would require multiple miles. How would i b able to do it?
Thanks for coming to me! Im sure other people will be able to provide more feedback. From my experience, my XC team is TOTALLY scattered. Unlike track i feel, xc you really get better and better each time you go out. With devotion and support from team mates and coaches, itll be SO fun. XC is a journey, it’s about personal commitment and improvement. try your hardest, and get out this summer and try to build your way up to 2 miles and go out for the team! Youll ADORE it♥
hi i started track in march- my first time doing it- and ever since then my period hasnt started. its been about 3 months now. is this normal? has it happened to you?i've had my period for 3 years now
it can’t hurt to ask a doc, but sports tend to slow this down. Many times being VERY healthy and in shape or a change in the amount you exercise will affect this. Don’t worry too much, you are still healthy. If you are concerned, ask your mom or a doc! Happens to everyone. This is totally normal!
To the girl about her period- it’s definetely common for athletes. the stress on the body keeps it from being regular. i havent mine since the track season started, i usually get it from summer until right as the season starts. no worries love xx
We were at the same sectional today!! I ran the 2 mile. My school had our 4x8, 4x4, and 3 individuals qualify for state! Hope you did good! Idk if you saw the 4x4, but it was crazy,we beat Loyola out by just enough at the end!
i was in the 4by4 and 4 by 2. We were GBN in the first heat, i was runner one. Hope you did awesome! My good friend Val placed in the 2 mile!
hello i stumbled across your blog and i thought I'd ask you a question. I just started to run casually and I really like it. I can run a mile in seven something minutes and my friends brought up track. Some of them are in it and some are trying to get me to join. My friends say "I could be a runner" and I just need to run more, but I feel like I wouldn't be good enough for the team. Is track fun? Is it worth joining?
let me just say, there are a lot of girls on my team that can’t even run a 7 minute mile! That rocks! And track is my second home. Its a place where everyone can have fun and make friends. There are so many people usually on a team that you can find your niche and learn to be a great runner as well as get some awesome exercise. Make sure you want to be committed because sometimes the workouts arent the best thing. Overall, track is like a family. Some of my favorite highschool moments have developed from track!
